Hi guys,

I will be the first to comment! :)

Firstly, I want to comment on the slides and videos. They are interesting, although there are technical difficulties. However, I feel that there is a lack of analysis on the technical difficulties in building the bridge and tunnel.

Individually, Sylvester and Xiao Shi dressed up really formally like you would in a news station. In addition, I like your laptop backs. It makes presentation interesting. However, Xiao Shi makes it a little obvious that she forgot her lines. Shouldn't be that way. Eye contacts are not there yet. Another thing is your survey findings should be a summary. Giving the whole survey finding will bore the audience and we cannot catch any number. Lastly, when your friends present, you should sit at the side. Sitting at the middle can be distracting.

Wyhow, you look too frequently at the slides. The tone that you spoke is also a little monotonous, but the slides show are well done with no word. However, you should stand at the side when your friends present. It's quite distracting.

Guo Chen, your accent is a little strong make it a little hard to listen sometimes. The analysis of walk time and transportation times is good. Limitation is also addressed. However, your eye contact is not very good.

Anyways, good job guys. I feel quite convinced by the presentation.

Cheers,
Billet

Hi guys!

I'm just going to touch on the overall outlook of your presentation.

The audio technical glitches aside, I felt there wasn't a flow in the presentation. I felt the workload could have been spread equally among the four group members. Some spoke too much while others spoke too little. Also, although the idea of "news broadcasting" was unique, it was not that appropriate with regards to the aims of the oral presentation.

Nonetheless, having said that, I applaud your team's efforts for doing up the video. It gave us a better description and explanation of the problem on transportation. In fact, it looked pretty real. Thanks!

Cheers,
Alvin

Thanks, Sylvester, for this detailed reflection and for all the work with the presentation. I really appreciate the effort you made individually and as a member of your fine team. Also, as I mentioned in the formal assessment, there is great value in the creative strides you guys made. Sure there was some risk, and indeed maybe you didn't achieve all that you expected. But the greatest learning isn't always evident on the first showing. Your time will come.

In relation to that, I should add that there was marked improvement in your own delivery this time over that for the previous assignment. For starters, you seemed so much more confident and much better eye contact. Glitches aside, you've made the very best of this entire process. Great job, Sylvester!

Hey Team Step Up,

Since i've commented on individual performances on the posts, this will just be a general feedback to the entire presentation.

It was rather impressive and entertaining, with the many visuals to convince the audience of its benefit. I feel that here, visuals were a good touch to convince, as the aim was to promote a physical construction, instead the rest of ours, targeting more intangible needs of the students.

I loved the way you all dressed to look very impressive and it added a very professional touch to the pitch to the NUSEU. I was also swayed by the cost benefit analysis, for it appealed logically and seemingly financially. With comparison to the cost of buses, it seemed like a possible solution.

Just to firm up your argument, I felt that maybe a map could have been shown to highlight the details of the location, where the pilot project would be constructed and how the phases may be applied. I guess it wasn't to your benefit that there were many engineers/scientists within the audience, which required more concrete detail to appeal.

Perhaps it was also that it was a large scale project to construct skywalks and underground tunnels, where there were many aspects for consideration, such as the costs, complexity of construction, alternatives of transportation, students' receptivity etc. Nonetheless, the idea was very interesting and creative!

It was a great job in such a short amount of time! :)

Cheers, Yanling

Hi guys,

On behalf of TEAM STEP UP, I would like to thank you all for the constructive feedbacks that was given. The comments given were well appreciated by the members. Indeed, there were a lot of things that we did not do as well. For my future presentations, I would definitely bring these comments to good use and firm up my presentation skills. I believed the same goes for the rest of TEAM STEP UP members. Once again, thank you all.. :D

Regards,
Team STEP UP..
